Aprilia SR GT, the scooter that tackles asphalt and dirt roads without any problem

Aprilia defines its new SR GT scooter as “urban adventure”. Surely it is an offer for those who travel daily in the city, but sometimes want to go to the province and take dirt roads. The only problem is that this is a vision which could get a little romantic, given the latest restrictions imposed by the highway code.

The Aprilia SR GT will still be an excellent means of transport for people who live outside the big cities, who may sometimes find themselves on dirt roads, but they need an agile scooter to go to work that can handle the congested traffic of large urban areas. And here, suddenly, all the features of this new scooter make sense.

The ground clearance of the Aprilia SR GT is 175 mm, the two-wheelers are equipped with tires with treads ready for off-roading and which perform better on uneven surfaces. Aprilia assures that the seating position has been taken care of, made appropriate for this particular ride. The scooter has a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel and a 9-liter fuel tank, which should provide a range of up to 350km, which will come in handy if you don’t live near a gas station.

The suspension is a 33mm Showa fork at the front with 122mm of excursion, while at the rear there are two shock absorbers with 102mm of travel. With a full tank the Aprilia SR GT weighs 144 kg with the smaller motor or 148 kg with the larger one.

The Aprilia SR GT 125 design is inspired by enduro motorcycles and this is visible in the space between the front fender and the raised front windshield. The overall style, however, is in line with Aprilia motorcycles, especially the configuration of the triple LED headlights with DRL a LED, sporty front shield with black inserts, high windshield, raised seat and sporty graphics. The new scooter is also equipped with an LCD instrument cluster with all essential readings and USB port. With the connection Bluetooth available as an option you can activate the connection with your smartphone via the Aprilia Mia app. SR GT also boasts a saddle pad 25-liter, which according to Aprilia can hold a full-face helmet.

Aprilia SR GT, yes 200 and 125cc

The new Italian scooter will be offered in two displacement versions. The smaller engine has 125cc and 15hp at 8,750 rpm, which is the maximum for those who have an A1 license or for those who have been in Category B for at least 3 years. The maximum torque is 12 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The more powerful Aprilia SR GT is powered by a motor gives 174 cc per whose maximum power is 17.7 hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque is 16.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Both engines are single-cylinder and are equipped with a start / stop system. The drive is traditionally powered by a CVT shift continuously variable.

L’Aprilia SR GT will be offered in two versions a regardless of the engine: Standard (Aprilia Black, Street Gray and Infinity Blue colors) and Sport in Street Gold, Iridium Gray and Red Raceway colors).

Pricing and availability information has not yet been announced, but will be released in the coming months.
