Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: $ 300 million debut

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: a $ 300 million theatrical debut is expected

Doctor Strange in Multvierso della Follia arrives today in Italian cinemas, two days before the North American distribution.

Meanwhile, right now, analysts have apparently revised their box office forecasts for the new MCU title.

As reported by Deadline, in fact, the film, which sees the talented as director Sam Raimi, now aims for a debut of between $ 160 and $ 180 million nationwide. The distribution of the film, we recall, is the widest ever since the era of the Covid emergency pandemic, with 4400 screens.

Fans expect the film to be a three-pronged sequel: to the previous Marvel blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home (who also recounted important events for the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and for Disney + series WandaVision e Loki.

The situation abroad for Doctor Strange

Abroad, however, analysts are waiting for a first weekend of about 140 million dollars or perhaps even more, which would be able to make Doctor Strange touch the mind-boggling figure of $ 300 million in the Multiverse of Madness.

If that were the case, it would represent the second best box office debut of the Covid era after the stratospheric $ 582 million Spider-Man: No Way Home debut.

Currently in second place there is The Batman directed by Matt Reeves and protagonist Robert Pattinsonwhich began with $ 251 million worldwide.

However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will start out at a disadvantage compared to The Batman and Spider-Man: No Way Home. In fact, the film will not only lose the thriving markets of countries like Russia and China, but also many markets in the Middle East, which have banned the film due to its LBGTQ elements.

So we just have to go all to the cinema and don’t miss out on this masterpiece offered by the MCU!
