Cast, plot, trailer and everything you need to know about Elemental, the new Pixar animated feature film in theaters from June 21st

It has closed since out of competition the Cannes Film Festival 2023 and starting from 21 June it will be present in the programs of all Italian cinemas. This is Elemental, the new animated film from Pixar set in Element City, where the residents of fire, water, earth and air live together. In particular, the film is the story of the bond that arises between a fire element, Ember, and a water element, Wade, who cannot even touch each other but discover how many things they have in common.

Elemental: Weave and Cast

Elemental by Disney and Pixar is a new original feature film set in Element City, where residents of fire, water, earth and air live together. The story introduces Ember (Leah Lewis), a tough, quick-witted, fiery young woman whose friendship is a funny, saccharine, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade (Mamoudou Athie) challenges her beliefs about the world they live in. Element City is inspired by great cities around the world, embracing the theorized contributions of each elemental community: gigantic pine-like buildings and skyscrapers cascading down to a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium.

The cast also includes Shila Ommi as Cinder, Ember’s needy mother Catherine O’Hara as Brook, Wade’s kindly mom, Mason Wertheimer as Clod, Ember’s admired land neighbor and joe pear as an overgrown bureaucrat citizen named Fern.

Elemental: the trailer and other curiosities

The film is directed by peter son in his second feature after Arlo’s Journey. The screenplay of the film is by Brenda Hsueh (Red), John Hoberg (Neighbours of the Third Kind), Kat Likkel (animated TV series Sabrina). The production of Elemental lasted a full seven years and was slowed down by the COVID. Sohn said:

My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 70’s and built a bustling grocery store in the Bronx…We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams – all of us mixed into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages ​​and beautiful little neighborhoods. This is what brought me to Elemental.

So this film is a thank you to the director’s parents, who passed away during the making of this thing. The soundtrack includes the original song “Steal the Show” written by Thomas Newman (music) and Michael Matosic (lyrics) and performed by Lauv aka Ari Leff. American singer-songwriter and record producer, Leff having written songs for artists such as Celine Dion, Demi Lovato and Charli XCX started publishing and performing her own songs. We can therefore expect sparks from this new film.
