Shia LeBeouf and Abel Ferrara are working on a new film

The news comes from Abel Ferrara that Shia LaBeouf, already the protagonist of his Padre Pio, would be working again on a new film

The controversial actor Shia LeBeouf would be working on a project in which the director of his latest work is also involved, Abel Ferrara. The latter confirmed that he will collaborate after the biopic on Father Piowith Shia LeBeouf on a new film.

After Megalopoliscolossal by Francis Ford Coppola, Assassination by David Mamet on the JFK murder and a crime drama called Mace, it seems that the American actor does not intend to take breaks. As for the present, it is Abel Ferrara, who directed Shia in Padre Pio, who gives us some information.

Shia Labeouf’s new film

In an interview with The Film Stage, Abel Ferrara talked about Shia Labeouf and the film Padre Pio. To the journalist who asked him if he had kept in contact with the actor, the director replied that in reality his shots of Padre Pio were very short (actually barely four days) but that they are already working together on a film, written by Shia LaBeouf himself, which talks about Auschwitz.

Shia LaBeouf is not a prolific screenwriter, since wrote the script only of the autobiographical Honey Boy. On the other hand, Ferrara is a very generous and collaborative director who gives the actors the opportunity to propose, experiment and improvise. It is therefore very probable that LaBeouf and Ferrara will be able to write an excellent screenplay to be transformed into a respectable film.

Presented last year at the Venice Film Festival, Padre Pio marked the return to acting of Shia LaBeouf after the stop caused by sexual harassment complaint and psychological abuse from his ex FKA Twigs.
