Swedish holding company Embracer Group announced that it has initiated the acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix Montreal and Eidos Montreal

Embracer Group announced an agreement with Square Enix Holdings for the acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal e Square Enix Montreal. In addition to real hits like the Deus Ex series, Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain e Thief, the Swedish holding will also acquire “more than 50 backlogs” all for $ 300 million. The three studios include approximately 1,100 employees at eight locations around the world. These acquisitions are just the latest in Embracer’s recent history. The latter, in fact, has already acquired studies of the caliber of Aspyr Media (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake), 4A Games (Metro Exodus) Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic), Perfect World Entertainment ( Neverwinter), Dark Horse Media and so on.
