Ferrari 296 GTS sports hybrid and convertible

Every time Ferrari launches a new model, it generates great anticipation among motor enthusiasts and, above all, among fans of the brand. This time it’s up to the new one Ferrari 296 GTS, the spider that now features an 830 HP Plug-in hybrid V6 engine.

The new Ferrari 296 GTS sports a design very similar to that of the berlinetta, with the exception of incorporating a retractable hardtop that folds electrically in 14 seconds. This is also possible while driving, up to a speed of 45 km / h.

As mentioned, the new Prancing Horse sports car is equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 Biturbo engine that produces 663 hp e 740 Nm of torque and another 167 HP electric motor. Together, they provide the power of 830 CV.

The hybrid system provides a 7.45 kWh lithium-ion batterywith which it can travel up to 25 kilometers without consuming gasoline.

The internal combustion engine has the two turbos installed inside the V, and the cylinders are positioned to form a 120 degree angle. The electric motor is located between the thermal one and the eight-speed DCT dual-clutch gearbox.

In addition, between the combustion engine and the electric one, there is a clutch that takes care of decoupling the V6 to circulate in electric mode. The Italian company announces the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, from 0 to 200 km / h in 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed is at 330 km/h, while In electric mode it goes up to 135 km / h.

Assetto Fiorano also for the 296 GTS

Ferrari has also included the Assetto Fiorano package in the new 296 GTS for those customers looking for more extreme sensations for exclusive use on the track.

The Assetto Fiorano package includes several elements that lighten the weight of the set and improve aerodynamics, reaching a load of 360 kilos at 250 km / h. It also incorporates shock absorbers Multmatica polycarbonate rear window Lexan and carbon fiber in the bumpers and cockpit.

As an option, the brand offers a special 250 livery kit Le Mans e pneumatici Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2R.
