Despite a quarterly report below expectations, Google continues to grind billions in profits every quarter and, unlike other tech companies, it does not provide for layoffs and cuts to the workforce. The company, through its CEO Sundar Pichai, informed its 170,000 employees about the launch of a new strategy that aims to maximize productivity.
A CNBC report confirmed Google’s new future strategy which does not intend to resort to layoffs but on condition that it can maximize productivity and efficiency of its employees. For the occasion, Google also gave a name to the new strategy defined “Simplicity Sprint”.
For the more than 170,000 employees of the company, it will now be necessary to focus on a considerable production effort to ensure an improvement in activities and accounts. Layoffs, just to save profits, are always around the corner even for a giant like Google.
With regard to the hiring trend, on the other hand, Google continues to increase its staff, a sign that layoffs are not on the agenda for now. The second quarter of 2022 saw substantial headcount growth for Alphabet, the company that controls Google.
Despite the uncertainties of the economy, the development plans of the American giant do not stop. Further details regarding the company’s strategies should emerge over the next few weeks.
