Green Technologies: Ozobox arrives, the Italian patent that purifies water

The first domestic device that uses green technologies to purify air and water was born in Italy, between Padua, Venice and Udine.

Officially born OZOBOX, a home device for the air sanitation and water purification. The start-up was born between Padua, Venice and Udine, for an all-Italian excellence in the home care sector. Here’s how the team announced the device:

The use of ozone to purify water and sanitize environments has been well known for some time. However, after the arrival of Covid, a real one was registered surge in requests for appliances to sanitize environments. However, the use of green technologies for domestic use began well before the arrival of Covid. Already in 2018 a team of professionals from the Veneto began to work to bring that technology into everyone’s homes. For the first time, the focus was also on the elegance of the design as well as on functionality. The result arrives today: after three years of work and two of patents, it arrives in OZOBOX homes.

From design to implementation

The first part of the design took place in an engineering laboratory in Limena, in the Padua area. And it is precisely here that the first three prototypes were made with the most advanced 3D printing techniques. Then the company decided to set up its headquarters in Stra, in the Venetian area, where the headquarters are today. Production is instead entrusted to the Tolmezzo plant, in the province of Udine. Almost all of the components and materials are made in Italy, from the electronic boards to the plastic parts of the casing. And the assembly is done by the skilled hands of Friulian professionals.

“We are the first to offer a small portable and design sanitizer, designed specifically for domestic environments”, they explain the sole director Patrizia Griggio and the commercial director Roberto Bergantin. “We have patented special programs that release only a quantity of ozone into the rooms that does not endanger people’s health. After years of laboratory testing, we have created a technology that can even be carried around, on vacation or wherever it is needed. The spaces are sanitized by destroying the microbial load with oxidation and the tap water is purified, making it not only safe but enriching it with oxygen for the well-being of the organism and the rebalancing of its functions “.

In addition to efficiency and design, OZOBOX is characterized by high security. In fact, the residual ozone catalyst is activated automatically at the end of each sanitation program (it serves to eliminate the remaining ozone, converting it into oxygen). Furthermore uThe presence sensor activates it in the event that a person or an animal enters the room by mistake during the treatment. The user will have available about twenty presets for different uses of ozone, according to the requirements.

Green technologies at the service of the home

OZOBOX is a purification, sanitization and deodorization system that exploits the natural sanitizing properties of ozone, negative ions and UV rays starting from the oxygen present in the air. The device is able to break down the microbial and viral load and remove odors with a system that goes beyond simple filtration, for a sanitization that eliminates allergens and polluting particles. Ozobox sanitizes environments by spreading ozone in the air and with the same device it also sanitizes the water by means of an immersion probe; has a presence sensor available that blocks ozone programs in case someone enters the room by mistake during sanitization. The residual ozone catalyst comes into operation at the end of each sanitation program or in case of need.
