Here is a whole collection of Nokia ringtones composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto

The music world, and beyond, still mourns the passing of the legendary Ryuichi Sakamoto, who died a few days ago at the age of 71 after a tough battle with cancer. In addition to the numerous artists who have paid homage to the Japanese composer, several users have also remembered his work and his works. In particular, a YouTube account has shared a video that collects a collection of ringtones composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto for Nokia.

Ryuichi Sakamoto ringtones for Nokia 8800

These are compositions created in 2005 specifically for Nokia 8800. The video, which you can find below, lasts 14 minutes and includes standard ringtones found on the mobile phone, exclusive ringtones from the CD supplied at the time of purchase, alarm clocks and downloadable content only from the Nokia website.

In the description of the video it is also possible to read the titles of the compositions. Some have dreamy names, like Asian-chant and N-choral.

Sakamoto’s most recent album, 12, was released in January, marking his 71st birthday. This is his first work, excluding soundtracks, in almost six years.
