Horizon Forbidden West: come gira su PS4?

Let’s find out together, in this dedicated news, how the very recent Horizon Forbidden West runs on the PS4 console

Since its official announcement, the latest effort by Guerrilla Games has established itself as a title definitely oriented towards next gen consoles. When confirmation came that it would also be playable on the PlayStation 4, many fans wondered what technical sacrifices would be required to allow the game to function without sacrificing too much of its brilliance. Now, after the official launch, it has finally been possible to check the situation for yourself. So here’s how Horizon Forbidden West shoots on PS4.

Here’s how Horizon Forbidden West runs on PS4 consoles

We have also talked extensively about the wonders of the brand new Horizon Forbidden West in our dedicated review, but if you are PS4 owners interested in trying the title, you may have some understandable fears about how the latter runs on this system. Aloy’s brand new adventure in the Forbidden West seemed to want to be a PS5 exclusive, and in fact on Sony’s next-gen console the title can benefit from greater hardware power and integrated SSD. Thanks to them the game runs more smoothly, with greater graphic detail and the possibility to choose between the Performance mode (which allows you to play at 60 fps and a resolution of 1800p) or Resolution (which drops the fps to 30 but with a graphics in 4K).

Non-owners of next gen consoles, however, will be happy to know that the latest Guerrilla title seems to have been optimized really well for the consoles of the previous generation. Net of obvious and predictable technical compromises, users will still be able to enjoy Aloy’s journey to the beauty of 1080p and 30 fps on the basic and slim PlayStation 4, while on the Pro versions the resolution will reach 1800p. No significant drops in performance seem to have been reported, thus making the title perfectly enjoyable on the systems of both generations. Furthermore, the arrival on PC, in recent times, of several exclusive titles for the Sony console (including the previous Horizon Zero Dawn) bodes well for the possibility that Forbidden West may also land on Computer in the future, but for the moment there are no official statements on the matter.

And have you already plunged into Aloy’s new adventure? On which console are you playing this highly anticipated title?
