Konami today revealed the new banlist for Yu-Gi-Oh cards, removing two of the most popular cards from players, which have been banned for over 15 years. This is the powerful spell card Change Of Heart and the infamous Yata-Garasu. The latter was one of the first to end up on the original August 2004 banlist.
Yata-Garasu it allowed players to prevent opponents from playing cards, with a “skip the turn” effect. For this reason it was banned from competitions, as it was considered too powerful. Change Of Heart ended up on the banlist in April 2005. This allowed players to take control of the opposing monster for one turn. Also in this case he risked, due to her power, to influence too much on the progress of the races, which is why she too ended up in the banlist.
Three new cards have been introduced in the new list of banned cards released today: Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon, Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu e Predaplant Verte Anaconda. Likewise, in addition to Yata-Garasu and Change Of Heart, Jet Synchron, Performerpal Monkeyboard and Time Seal have also been removed. Click here to see the updated banlist.
We remind you that none of these changes are currently valid for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, currently free-to-play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, iOS and Android. It is likely that in a future update the video game will also align with the Trading Card Game.
