A fairly truthful leak speaks of a particular NVIDIA GPU, a new version of the A100 PCIe equipped with 80GB of video memory

This time the leak comes from NVIDIA itself, although it hasn’t officially announced this new A100 PCIe, in a document referring to the US company, which you can find at this link, it seems that a new particular model of graphics card is coming.

The GPU in question will obviously be a model certainly not intended for a gamer audience, but it will be aimed at datacenters and servers, apparently it will be its new flagship solution for this segment. Here are all the details.

NVIDIA A100: A very special GPU with 80GB of memory

The new version of GPU for datacenter, the undisputed top range for performance, boasts a terrifying data sheet. We have a GPU characterized by an area of over 825 square millimeters, with even 6,912 CUDA core. The amount of memory is incredible, we are talking about 80GB of advanced HBM2e modules, memories so high that they are able to reach speeds equal to 2TB / s of theoretical bandwidth. Apparently there will also be a second version, much more contained, with a smaller amount of HBM2e memory, equal to 40GB, with a bandwidth of 1.6TB / s.

This particular GPU would allow to perform very complex calculations, in specific areas of research and development. The format is a PCI Express form factor, SXM4 type. NVIDIA proprietary format, designed and developed specifically to install the GPUs in question directly inside the servers. The connection protocol is the Gen 4.0 standard. There are two versions, one dedicated to the NVLink connection with the possibility of connecting in parallel only a maximum of 2 cards, one in the SXM4 version with the possibility of connecting more cards. At the moment the prices are not known, but something around the is expected 15/20 thousand dollars
