Sonnet has announced its brand new PCI Express 3.0 adapter card with two NVMe SSD slots

Sonnet Technologies (here for the site) announced the card today PCIe low profile Sonnet M.2 2×4, the latest offering from the company’s popular family of high-performance memory cards. This allows the installation of multiple SSDs in the PCIe card slot computer or Thunderbolt expansion system. The low-profile, half-length PCIe 3.0 card is equipped with two M-keyed M.2 NVMe SSD slots that support installing M.2 PCIe form factor NVMe SSDs.

Sonnet M.2 2 × 4 low profile PCIe card allows users to mount two SSD M.2 NVMe 2280 PCIe (sold separately) in almost any expansion card slot with an available PCIe x8 or x16 card slot. Using today’s highest capacity SSDs, you can install up to 16 TB of storage capacity. RAID 0, RAID 1 and JBOD configurations are supported, providing users with flexibility in configuring SSDs for the best performance or data security, or both.

For users who need to add internal memory to their computer and require fast data transfer speeds, an upgrade based on SSD NVMe M.2 It is ideal. Many computers do not include slots to support direct installation of M.2 SSDs, but do include PCIe expansion card slots. To support their sustained high performance, the card’s built-in heatsink silently cools SSDs to eliminate the need for a “thermal accelerator”. An SSD protection feature that prevents overheating by choking performance until it cools down.

Availability and price

The Sonnet M.2 2 × 4 Low Profile PCIe Card (part number FUS-SSD-2 × 4-E3S) will be available in the last week of June from Sonnet. Soon after, it will also be released by channel partners around the world at US $ 199.99 suggested retail price.
