PlayStation Stars: Sony’s new loyalty program

Announced by Sony, PlayStation Stars is the new loyalty program for PS4 and PS5 players. Let’s find out some details together

Directly from Sony came the announcement of the official new loyalty program for PS4 and PS5 players, the PlayStation Stars. The service that will be available by the end of 2022will give users the chance to earn specific rewards by completing certain activitiessuch as simply playing any title or winning tournaments, earning specific trophies or even platinizing a successful title first (in the local time zone).

What rewards will then be obtained by completing the targets of the new PlayStation Stars program? Sony explained this in a post on its blog, where it says that all members of its new initiative will have the opportunity to make money loyalty pointswhich can then be redeemed in a catalog which may include PSN wallet funds and select PlayStation Store products. In addition, all PlayStation Plus members who sign up for the new project of Sonywill automatically earn points for purchases made on the PS Store.

In addition to the aforementioned rewards, Sony has unveiled an additional reward which will be called “digital collectibles“. These will be digital representations of the characters and titles most loved by PlayStation fans, or even the long-standing hardware that has remained in the hearts of Sony fans. The same Japanese software house reiterated that the collectibles will be numerous and constantly updated, along with the various activities to get them. At the moment the program is in the works with some tests, but following their statements, we will have to have the new service available before the end of the year.
