PS5 Pro: for rumors, the PlayStation 5 review is already on its way

“The bill is languishing and that machine wants my blood”: according to a rumor, PS5 Pro may already be in the works at Sony

If you have already shelled out good money for the second generation of Sony branded virtual reality, get ready for the next step foreseen by the rumor: the revisionism of the cobalt titan shows no sign of biting the brakes, if the rumors about PS5 Pro were true. Three years after its launch, if you remember correctly, PS4 enjoyed a second youth with its most powerful incarnation. Apparently PlayStation 5 will repeat history. Or rather, to quote an adage, “history won’t repeat itself, but damn it rhymes.” They are not even the first rumors about the black and white monolith: we have a lot to talk about.

You can’t get more rumor than this: the thousand rumors about PS5 Pro

Previous rumors weren’t so much about a “Pro” version of the PS5, as much as a variant of the console equipped with removable disc compartment. This hypothetical revision would have made its debut on shelves in the fall. The real “big brother” is part of a new indiscretion that is already winding its way through the ranks of the foreign trade press. Since this is a platform endowed with a speculative sphere capable of extending to technical specifications, we believe it is right to consider this the ideal point to warn you of take everything with a dutiful pair of pliers. It is based only on the assumptions born from patents, always prolific in this sense.

We are alluding specifically to a patent with which Sony aims to improve the performance of ray tracing. Virtual lighting in games has always been one of the cornerstones of the sometimes vague marketing that distinguishes the next-gen, and this would fall within the canons to which the “Big S” has accustomed us up to day one three years ago. As you can see in the Insider Gaming tweet above, the expected release hovers around holidays of 2024. As for the PlayStation 6won’t talk about it until 2028 as a minimum threshold. As a rumor it is intriguing, but be prepared to wait months before denials or (above all) confirmations.

Now it’s up to you to tell us your opinion: do you think we will see more muscle from Sony’s flagship console in a short time?
