Sony Interactive Entertainment acquisisce Bluepoint Games

Sony Interactive Entertainment (“SIE”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Bluepoint® Games, one of SIE’s longtime key partners, with a history of developing critically acclaimed remasters and remakes for PlayStation® consoles.

With a relationship spanning over 15 years, Bluepoint’s experience in building high-quality worlds and creating characters will help in the development of future PlayStation Studios IPs.

With each of their own projects, Bluepoint has continued to raise the bar of graphics and console gameplay, developing some of the highest quality remasters and remakes in the industry. The most recent release of Bluepoint, the PS5 ™ remake of Demon’s Souls, was one of the most critically acclaimed titles, selling well 1.4 million copies since release, dated November 12, 2020. Other titles in Bluepoint’s portfolio include PS4 remakes and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Shadow of the Colossus, Gravity Rush and many others. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Bluepoint will join the PlayStation Studios global development operation and will be the sixteenth study to join the PlayStation family.
