Ubisoft Forward | Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red will take us to Japan

Feudal Japan is about to meet the red and white homicidal lineage with Codename Red, the youngest son of Assassin’s Creed at Ubisoft Forward

The hypothesis of accompanying the ancestors of Desmond Miles in Japan has been aired for years, and now we have confirmation from the last one Ubisoft Forward that Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red aims to do exactly that. Before we get caught up in the euphoria, it is good to reiterate that no, probably “code name red” is not the final title. The current name is expressly used as a placeholder, contrary to the confirmed Mirage. We only have one breve teaser to talk about, and the game is certainly in no rush to hit the shelves. However, it will be different experiences.

The Japan of Assassin’s Creed: the confirmation of Codename Red at the Ubisoft Forward

During the presentation of the Forward, Ubisoft defined Codename Red “The future of our open-world RPG series”, alluding to the more traditional stealth direction of Mirage. Marc-Alexis Cote he then increased the dose on behalf of the Cisalpine publisher: the game “will allow players to explore one of the most anticipated settings”, with a nod to the leaks confirmed by this announcement. Of course, this “highly anticipated Shinobi fantasy in feudal Japan” is not to be confused with another role-playing game partially set at the end of the Edo period. We only have the illustration above to talk about, though.

Afterward, the presentation outlined various stages of what awaits us in the future of the series. An expansion of Valhalla awaits us later this same year, before moving on to Mirage in 2023 and two other “code names”, Witch e Jade, further on. In other words, the wait could last until 2024, if not beyond. It is all clear and nebulous at the same time: to understand if a branch of the company will take care of the stealth roots of the saga, leaving the management of the RPG aspect to other divisions, we can only wait. Of course, we can expect the game to only come out on next-gen consoles and PCs. We have no other data (or dates).

Now it’s up to you to tell us yours: what do you think of the confirmation?
