Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro review, the link between smartwatches and smartbands. Let's find out why it is one of the best purchases in the reference range
Welcome back to TechGameWorld.com for the review of Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, a smartband (or maybe not?) that captures attention for its very advantageous price and high build quality. It boasts a 1.74 inch AMOLED display, a waterproof and dustproof body compliant with the IP68 standard, and a battery life of approximately 12 days. Let's find out all the details!
Let's start with one of the strong points of the device: the construction quality. It is clear that the smartband has been created with great attention to detail. There are no imperfections or creaks; every element is in its place. The design, although not particularly original, is pleasant and offers a good visual impact in any situation or context, making it suitable for any occasion. The silicone strap is also well made and very simple to attach.
But let's now move on to one of the fundamental aspects for this category of products, the display. A large panel 1.74 inch AMOLED diagonal with resolution 336 x 480 pixel. The quality is excellent, as is the fluidity (set to 60Hz), the brightness is then automatic thanks to the integrated sensor, net of a not particularly high switch speed.
One of the strong points of this Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is certainly its sensors, which always turns out to be quite accurate. Despite the absence of advanced features such as ECG, step monitoring, sleep monitoring, heart rate monitoring and spO2 it is quite precise.
Also present on this Pro variant is the GPS for route tracking in training sessions. The latter, in our tests, absolutely proved itself reliable and precise, even in more isolated areas (to be mentioned, however, a foreseeable and accentuated battery discharge). The vibration is good, very strong and can be set to two intensity levels. Too bad for the absence of one speakerin fact it will not be possible to answer incoming calls or interact with any virtual assistant.
However, in general, the autonomy of the smartband is very goodguaranteeing, as promised, approximately 10/12 days of use continuous. The autonomy in stand-by mode is also satisfactory, with constant and reduced energy consumption. As for charging, this requires about an hour to be 100% complete and is done through magnetic pins located on the back, which are convenient and functional.
The software offers a wide range of features that facilitate the call management incoming notifications (despite the inability to respond), music and reminders. With around a hundred sporting activities supported by the aforementioned Built-in GPS, meets most user needs. Also includes heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, sleep analysis, weather forecast, breathing exercises, timer, wakes up and the smartphone search function, among others. Also worth mentioning is the possibility of creating complicationthat is, customizable widgets that are very convenient for daily use.
Also, the companion app Mi Fitness, available for free on stores, stands out for its minimalist and functional interface, with refined graphics and intuitive use. It then offers detailed graphics and an integrated store watchfaces, which although they are not numerous, are almost all well made and suitable for every occasion. Worthy of note is the low energy consumption in app stand-by, great job Xiaomi!
The new Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro it is ideal for those who want to explore the world of smart wearables for the first time, without having to invest a lot. It is a device that combines functional completeness and aesthetic elegance. Available on the official Xiaomi website and on Amazon at a cost of approximately 70 eurorepresents a well-priced option considering its many features.
