Apple suffered in 2023 production delays which prevented iPad models from being updated. But according to the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuothe company plans a big comeback in 2024, with the arrival of new iPad across the board, including a 12.9″ iPad Air and an iPad Pro with OLED screen.
12.9″ iPad Pro OLED and iPad Air (and more) arriving in 2024
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo anticipates that next year Apple intends to relaunch itself on the market with a radical update of the entire iPad range. Among the planned innovations, new models stand out iPad Air which include a larger version, with a screen of 12.9 inchese iPad Pro equipped with revolutionary displays OLED. Besides, they will come updates for iPad mini it’s a new generation of the cheapest entry-level iPad.
Kuo says he is sure of the arrival of these products, but expresses reservations about them tablet sales. Forecasts indicate total iPad shipments between 52-54 million units. A modest increase compared to 50 million estimated for this year and significantly lower than the peak of 2022, with 63 million units.
In the first quarter of 2024the focus will be on range iPad Airwith an expansion that includes a new 12.9 inch model. The iPad Air will retain the LCD panels, but with new display technology and chip upgrades for higher performance.
In the second quarterthe focus will shift toiPad Pro. New models with a redesigned chassis, the latest chip M3 and, for the first time on an Apple device, a display OLED. This technology will improve the display quality and power consumption.
This fall, new versions of iPad Mini and the basic model iPad (11th generation). Furthermore, theiPad (9th generation) will no longer be sold, completing the Lighting port transition for the iPad range.
iPad will be the protagonist in 2024 – or at least, it will have an important role: it will be difficult to take attention away from Apple Vision Pro.
