27-inch iMac, there will be no Mini-LED display
In the past few weeks, we have reported that Apple has started manufacturing 27-inch iMacs for the 2022, after launching those from 24 this year. However, now a report from DigiTimes highlights the possibility that screens aren’t built with the technology Mini–LED, citing sources in Apple’s supply chain.
However, the new iMacs won’t just be a larger version of the model seen this year. The screen should be “up to 30-40% brighter of previous models “. Also, new internal specs are expected to arrive, possibly an Apple M2 chip.
Some rumors though counter the DigiTimes report. Among which the most significant is that of Ross Young, an expert display and monitor analyst. He believe even if it is a Mini devices–LED, while it is not clear whether or not to confirm the presence of the same colors seen on the 24-inch iMac.
There is also the possibility that Apple will launch a 27-inch version of the iMac and then a 32-inch iMac Pro, the latter with a Mini-LED display and an enhanced version of the chips. Silicon (possibly an M1 Max).
Although the technical specifications differ, all analysts agree that in the first half of 2022 we will see at least two iMacs in Apple’s presentations. In all likelihood, we will have to wait until at least this next spring to find out if it really will have a Mini-LED display. We will keep you posted.
