KOEI TECMO Europe announced that Blue Reflection: Second Light, the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s beloved JRPG is currently in development from Gust Studios. With the announcement of Blue Reflection: Second Light the trailer and release date of the title that will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (playable on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility) and Windows PC via Steam.
Blue Reflection: Second Light, release date and trailer revealed
Blue Reflection: Second Light follows the adventures of three female students – Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo and Yuki Kinjou – who find themselves transported to a mysterious floating academy. They will be looking for clues to find their way home, with only their names as memories.
One day a path appears that leads to a new land, but when the three protagonists set out on a journey to unravel the mystery, they are greeted by a series of deadly monsters. By battling evil creatures, they unlock unknown powers that only seem to delve into the cryptic nature of their surroundings. During the adventure, the three friends work together and struggle to make their daily life as rich and fun as possible. As they spend each day trapped in this unknown world, the true feelings and personalities of the characters will be revealed. And, as their ties deepen, they will acquire new strengths and abilities.
Furthermore, not only will the protagonists be able to build their ideal academy during the game, but they will also be able to create objects together. Depending on the character combinations, the properties of the completed item may change, too triggering special conversations. By deepening their friendships, the three students will eventually get closer to the mystery of this world and why they lost their memories.
KOEI TECMO also announced that the famous illustrator Mel Kishida is once again leading the character design of the franchise. The richly detailed designs will also star in the new anime series titled Blue Reflection: Ray.
The acclaimed franchise will return to Europe on November 9, 2021 its Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (also playable on PlayStation 5) and Windows PC via Steam.
