Yesterday, at the official launch of the Huawei P50 series, Yu Chengdong of Huawei Technologies revealed that 40 million Huawei users now have the HarmonyOS 2 system. This system started rolling out on June 2nd, which means it has been available for less than two months. It means 8 new ones update their device to HarmonyOS every second.
Huawei’s HarmonyOS now has more than 40 million users
According to Yu Chengdong, in the near future Huawei Mate 9, P10 and other models will receive the update. The company is looking forward to more users connecting in the IoT era. According to previous announcements, the Huawei Mate 9 series and P10 series will get the operating system in the first half of 2022. All this despite the fact that these devices are five years old and equipped with the Kirin 960 chip. This demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to release HarmonyOS for all its existing smartphones. Just a month after the launch of HarmonyOS, Huawei had over 25 million devices updated to the system.
Last week, the fourth group of Huawei / Honor devices started receiving the HarmonyOS system. 14 smartphones, therefore, are currently receiving the HarmonyOS internal beta. Devices include:
- Huawei P20 e Huawei P20 Pro
- Huawei Mate 10 by Huawei Mate 10 Pro
- Huawei nova 5i, Huawei nova 4 e Huawei nova 4e
- Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design
- Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design
- Honor X10 e Honor X10 Max
- Honor 30S e Honor 30 Youth Edition
- Honor Play4
The company also provides that over 300 million devices will have the HarmonyOS operating system by the end of the year. His schedule shows that of this number, 200 million will be their own devices. The other 100 million devices will come from third-party manufacturers.
