Mattel, Inc. and Milestone today launched Hot Wheels Unleashed ™. The arcade-style action-packed racing experience is now available for those who pre-order Hot Wheels Unleashed ™ – Ultimate Stunt Edition on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store ). Hot Wheels Unleashed will be available worldwide on September 30, 2021.
Hot Wheels Unleashed: the game features
Riders can finally drift, power up, jump and crash on Hot Wheels’ iconic orange tracks in stunning detail. The game offers unique single player modes, including Hot Wheels City Rumble where players must win races, time attacks, complete special challenges and defeat bosses to expand their collection with unique cars and track pieces. Players can also challenge friends in multiplayer races for up to 12 players online (including cross-play via consoles of the same family from day one) and two players offline in split-screen mode.
The starting grid includes 66 vehicles, including Hot Wheels’ most iconic original designs in the brand’s 53-year history like Boneshaker ™, Rodger Dodger ™ and Twin Mill ™, pop culture automotive icons like DC ™ Batmobile, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon, Peanuts’ Snoopy, Back to the Future Time Machine, Knight Rider’s KITT and OEMs including Audi, Ford, Honda and many more.
Each vehicle has special attributes and rarity levels that players can upgrade. Hot Wheels original and OEM designs can also be customized with unique liveries via the livery editor, where players can also upload their own creations or download designs from the community.
The game scenarios
Hot Wheels Unleashed ™ features six locations, each with its own playground and unique style: Garage, Skyscraper, College Campus, Skatepark, Track Room (a special stage designed specifically to showcase the freedom offered by the Track Builder feature) and The Basement, a customizable space where players can rearrange furniture and accessories with hundreds of customization options.
The Track Builder is a unique feature, which the Milestone designers used to create the tracks of the game and allows players to create infinite variations of the tracks through different modules. More than 20 modules are available at launch, such as T-Rex Escape, Spider Ambush and Hungry Cobra. The Track Builder also offers players the ability to share their creations within the game or to download and enjoy tracks created by other players.
To keep the competition alive, Hot Wheels Unleashed ™ post-launch content plan will include more vehicles from iconic brands such as Street Fighter ™, Masters of the Universe ™, DC, Barbie ™, along with OEMs with racing pedigrees like Aston Martin , BMW and McLaren ™.
Free and premium DLCs will be released periodically with cars, track building modules, customization elements and exclusive themed expansion sets that will introduce new environments. Players will also have the opportunity to participate in Racing Seasons and limited-time challenges with new vehicles and special rewards.
But it doesn’t end here …
HOT WHEELS ™ Pass Vol. 1 includes ten vehicles, three customization packs, three track builder modules and HOT WHEELS ™ – Batman Expansion. Passes Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 will be announced shortly.
