The Steam Next Fest has just returned with a new edition, which will take place from 1 to 7 October. Throughout the duration of the event Valve has promised a long list of demos to try to celebrate the video game in all its forms. All the games that you can try in this event will arrive on Steam in the coming months and there will also be live streams from the developers, through which to obtain exclusive information. there the best video games to try the Steam Next Fest.
Steam Next Fest: the best video games to try
The Last Campfire
Developed and published by Hello Games, creators of No Man’s Sky, The Last Campfire is a 3D puzzle adventure game. The title was released on other platforms last year and was a great success both among the public and among industry critics. The release is scheduled on Steam for October 7.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command
Developed by The Artistocrats, Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a real-time strategy game based on the cinematic universe of Starship Troopers. For those unfamiliar with it, we are talking about a film in which infantry soldiers fight against huge killer insects. Originally slated for 2020 but delayed due to the pandemic, the game is expected to be out soon.
Tunic
Developed by Andrew Shouldice, Tunic is an action adventure in which players will play an adorable fox, whom we will have to help in his journey through the game world, exploring ruins and fighting less adorable creatures at the sword.
Airhead
Developed by Octato Games, Airhead is a puzzle platformer in which our task is to rescue a head-like organism, as we make our way through a world of distinct MetroidVania features. Our head will literally be full of air and to avoid being deflated we will have to reach the various checkpoints of the game in time.
YEAR: Change
Developed by Thinking Stars, ANNO: Mutationem is a cyberpunk RPG that will allow us to run through a city in pixel-art, fighting mechs with a lightsaber. Between 2D and 3D pixel art, cyberpunk aesthetics and the promise of a “dark and bizarre story”, this game promises hours and hours of fun, and is arguably one of the most exciting titles of this Steam Next Fest.
Biwar Legend of Dragon Slayer
Developed by Devata Game Production, it is an adventure third person action in which we will have to fight against fantastic creatures of Indonesian mythology. The graphics look very impressive and the combat system seems nothing short of particular and comparable to the third-person action adventure with some pleasant twitst. Take a look at the trailer to better understand what we mean.

These were, in our opinion, the best video games to try for this edition of the Steam Next Fest. Keep in mind that, although demos are available, not all of these titles have a well-defined release date at the moment. However, according to Steam, they should all be released by next May.
