In principle, smartwatches with an innovative design do not yet exist. Although the companies are working hard to offer users something more original and versatile. As the patent of the smartwatch samsung filed in June at the World Intellectual Property Office, and depicting a Galaxy Watch with roll-up screen and camera in the center. Basically, the watch seems to be a model like any other, except that the round dial can stretch 40% assuming the shape of an oval. Simply by pressing the crown. But let’s find out something more.

Samsung smartwatch: Galaxy Watch with rollable display patent filed
Samsung’s patent clearly showing the design of a rollable display smartwatch left everyone speechless. Especially since it seems that the company is convinced that a larger screen can entice users to watch videos directly from their watch. Not surprisingly, the patent shows the possibility of watching the adventures of Thor from Marvel from the Galaxy Watch. And the same goes for the camera equipment, which would seem to be allocated right in the center of the clock, so as to allow you to take pictures or videos comfortably.
On the other hand, it is not that difficult that Samsung may be willing to extend the display technology of folding smartphones to its wearable devices. Clearly, the idea of the camera it is perhaps the most tempting part of the project, although the company is not alone in working on something similar. Meta, for example, is planning a smartwatch that will be equipped with two cameras. And the Apple Watch is already able to guarantee a similar functionality thanks to the Wristcam strap, equipped with a built-in camera for short-term photos and video chats.
It is quite clear, therefore, that the tech giants are working to make the smartwatch as much as possible independent of the smartphone. And adding a camera could be an optimal solution, both for photos and for video calls, which have now become a daily appointment in our life. Although it may be quite uncomfortable to walk with your arm raised to have to frame yourself with the watch’s camera. And the same goes for watching videos. Just imagine what it might be like to have to watch an entire Marvel movie from your Samsung smartwatch. Not to mention the privacy issues.
But if we put all the negative sides of the project aside for a moment, we are left with the idea of a Galaxy Watch with a rollable screen. And this is already enough to make us happy.
