GSC Game World announced that STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl it will no longer have inside NFT. The confirmation came after a bizarre back and forth from the company, which first stated that there would be, sparking the ire of the community, and then backtracked on the issue. Officially, the software house has decided to return its steps after receiving the feedback from fans.
STALKER 2 will have no NFT
“Based on the feedback we have received, we have decided to delete any element related to NFTs in STALKER 2“, reads the new release. “The interests of our fans and players more generally are the top priority for our team. We are creating this game for you, and will complete it whatever the cost. If our community cares, then it matters to us too ”.
GSC Game World announced Wednesday that it would partner with the NFT DMarket platform for digital objects of this type designed for the game. One of the NFTs that the software house had already planned to offer would allow the owner to become a “metahuman”, which actually meant that he would transform into an NPC in the game.
The gaming community, on the other hand, does not look favorably on NFTs, for several valid reasons. First of all, there is the price, often very high, but also the environmental damage that ethereum can cause are absolutely not to be underestimated. This is without counting the long-term consequences, which could lead to the creation of a microtransactions within video games that the market can certainly do without.
We take this opportunity to remind you that STALKER 2 will debut on April 28 on Xbox Series X / S and PC, and will be available at no cost on day one on Game Pass.
