The latest, exciting episode of Hawkeye, of which we are offering you the review, is available on Disney +. Hawkeye is a series that neither adds nor takes anything away from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in fact it seems that its sole purpose is to present or deepen characters who will be used for future projects.
However, it is a very engaging series and despite the last episode lasting almost an hour, this time always seems too tight to contain all the emotions that the plot creates in the spectators.
Present situation | Hawkeye Review: Episode 6 – Merry Christmas To Me!
We are at the showdown, where all the knots come to a head and the real villain of the whole affair makes his triumphant entrance: behind all the events is Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. He had already glimpsed himself at the end of the last episode, but in this it is better explained what his role is in the whole story.
We find that Eleonor works for Fisk since to pay off a debt her late husband owed to him. But now she wants to get out and reveals that she has copies of all his shady deals, and is ready to frame him if he doesn’t let her go. The man swears he will take care of the situation soon.
Now that Kate and Clint know about Eleanor, the two prepare for the grand finale, which will take place at the Bishop Christmas Party. Just as Kate and Clint get ready, Kate reveals to Clint why she modeled her Hawkeye from the start: what makes him special is that it is a character who apparently does not have any great superpower, but who is gifted with a disproportionate courage and heroism and that is why he is able to be a great example.
And then there’s Yelena, looking for revenge after losing Natasha Romanoff, and, in her opinion, Hawkeye himself is responsible for this loss.
The main ingredients of this last episode are the action and the fighting, which had been temporarily put aside in the two previous episodes. In this last episode we can enjoy many clashes, which are well choreographed, enriched with humorous situations, and even some dramatic aspects. The load, from this point of view, is offered by Maya, who will find different motivations right at the end, which will lead her to fight against her own allies.
Why it was a winning mix | Hawkeye Review: Episode 6 – Merry Christmas To Me!
To surround it all there is a nice Christmas atmosphere, unusual for the superhero content of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in fact it seems that in the various products the events always take place at unspecified times of the year, however this atmosphere manages to be effective, and to accompany fans in a season finale that , in the end, it lives up to expectations and leaves a window open for new productions for a second season of the same show.
In the end, the plot was well explained and truly masterfully exposed without getting too involved in the plot. The only unclear note is Yelena. She claims she was hired by Kingpin, but we viewers who are aware of the Black Widow post-credit scene know there is more, so what’s the truth?
