Monster Hunter Rise, the new portable chapter of the famous hunting game by Capcom, will receive a massive expansion next summer, called Sunbreak, which will add new monsters and the infamous Master Rank. Unfortunately, the Japanese software house explained through a post on its social channels that there will be no news on the DLC until the spring of 2022, probably due to slowdowns during development.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak: no news until spring
Capcom’s silence regarding Sunbreak, although the release of the expansion is actually still quite far away, is bizarre, given that the company has got used to a marketing campaign of the highest caliber and accompanying every Monster Hunter title and expansion since well before release. For Sunbreak, however, the software house seems to be opting for a different strategy.
The reasons behind this choice could be many. In the first place it is good to mention that Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will be developed by a game director different from the one who built the base version of the game, which is why the team may be currently in a moment of internal readjustment.
Then it would be impossible not to mention the criticisms the game has gone through in recent months by the community of hard and pure enthusiasts. Although in fact Rise is an excellent Monster Hunter, the whole part of the game is related all’endgame it is deeply lacking for a title in this franchise, especially when compared to the recent installments of the series.
It is therefore possible that Capcom has listened to the criticisms and is working behind the scenes to create a new game loop that is more engaging and rewarding for users, but to find out we will only have to wait. In fact, we remind you that Rise has had a troubled development due to Covid-19, so it is realistic to imagine that the developers want to remedy the small big deficiencies found in the base game.
