Huawei, Honor and Motorola have started to move to introduce new top-of-the-range folding phones, betting on the Chinese market, currently among the most competitive when it comes to smartphones. Huawei has developed its own P50 Pocket , Honor baptized it Magic V, while Lenovo has focused on a flip phone called Razr: it is clear that these giants are moving en masse towards the production of leaflets.

According to Bloomberg estimates based on IDC data, the smartphone market is expected to grow to reach 1.35 billion shipments in the 2022 and new features like 5G wireless networking will be the key to winning customers over.
Samsung, the industry leader, has been active in the production of its range of folding devices for several generations, which recorded its best sales with the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 last August. Major Chinese brands such as Xiaomi and Oppo have both launched their own folding devices this year, while neighboring competitor Vivo has also started experimenting with this.
Even Apple has considered this new category of smartphones, even if the Cupertino company does not seem to have plans for their introductions, at least for the moment.
Honor and Motorola are currently trying to enter the Olympus of world brands, while Huawei for its part is trying to organize a recovery after the sanctions imposed by the Trump government. The most obvious effect of this ban is the fact that the company’s phones can no longer implement the operating system Android, which forced the giant to opt for an alternative.
Beyond a few small difficulties, it seems already quite evident that 2022 will be the year of folding smartphones.
