The evolution of wheelchair mobility by Klaxon has a name, Click: it is fast, intuitive, practical and also electric. These are the characteristics of the front thrust propeller developed by the company. Let’s find out all the details together.
Klaxon changes wheelchair mobility with Klick
The one of Click, the new invention of Klaxon, is a unique technology in the world panorama created by the founding members Andrea Stella e Enrico Boaretto to help people who use the wheelchair to move with minimum effort, on all types of terrain.
It is a system that aims to make more enjoyable e autonomous everyday life, facing every exit, even on difficult and bumpy paths. All, of course, in total safety e without the need for support from third parties. Andrea Stella, founding partner of the company, said:
The idea of producing solutions for the mobility of people in wheelchairs comes from the sea. It may seem like a provocation, yet the awareness that it is easier to cross the ocean on a sailboat than to move around the city led to the idea of creating Klick. Enrico and I met for a common passion, sailing, and over time we have also decided to share an entrepreneurial path. In 2015 we therefore created Klaxon, a highly innovative reality, which we are happy to see grow every year.
It all begins in Carinthia
It all begins in Villach, in Carinthia, inside a small office of a few square meters. A space that Enrico and Andrea obtain for free after being admitted to an incubation program of the Lake Side Science & Technology Park di Klagenfurt.
A pole of 34,000 sqm where companies, universities and research centers communicate with each other on a daily basis to develop the technologies of the future.
And it is precisely in this innovative environment that Klaxon begins to move and test the ground. Here, in fact, he was able to count on constant operational advice from government bodies such as BABEG and on incentives dedicated to companies that invest in R&D.
Enrico Boaretto stated:
In Carinthia we have found favorable conditions for the start-up of our company. Here we also found a highly meritocratic system that allowed us to grow as we wished. We have received considerable support in terms of public contributions, obtaining non-repayable and subsidized tax incentives from the FFG, the national research fund, assisted by the KWF, the Carinthian fund for business development. This allowed us to sell our first product as early as 2016. In 2019, however, it allowed us to build our production site in Arnoldstein. Here, in an area of over 5 thousand square meters, we directly produce our Clicks, which we then distribute in 35 countries around the world.
