Gamers in Russia will no longer be able to buy on Nintendo eShop, the stop to sales follows what has already been done by Apple and Microsoft.
Nintendo eShop will no longer sell in Russia
Go on the embargo of the big tech companies against Russia, which has been invading Ukraine for almost 10 days now. After Microsoft ed Apple Nintendo has also decided to take action, by suspending payments in rubles on his eShop. The consequence is only one: gamers in Russia will no longer be able to purchase any digital services for Switch. This therefore applies to video games, DLCs and the various subscription services for the console. Plus the company also blocked access to the platform in the territory, putting the service under maintenance. Here’s how the statement on the company’s Russian portal reads:
“Since the payment service employed by Nintendo eShop has suspended processing of rubles payments, Nintendo eShop in Russia is temporarily put into maintenance mode. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will provide updates as the situation evolves “
Only Sony is missing, therefore, which for the moment has not taken a position on the subject except for the game Grand Touring 7removed from the Russian PS Store in complete silence.
