His full name is Rowenta Eclipse QU5030 and it is a 2 in 1, that is a product that combines two different functionalities. On the one hand it behaves like a classic fan, capable of refreshing the surrounding air and attenuating the summer heat a little, on the other hand it is an air purifierwhich allows you to use it to improve the environment around you, also eliminating bad smells.
To find out how it actually behaves, we decided to put it to the test. We tell you how it went in this review.
The Rowenta Eclipse review
The design of Rowenta Eclipse QU5030 it is certainly not that of a classic fan. We are used to imagining them with more or less bulky blades, a plastic protection that prevents direct contact with the rotating elements and a base, which perhaps includes 3/4 buttons for ignition and speed.
Rowenta Eclipse is more refined. It shows up with an unusual shape, almost conical and with a completely hollow central part. Overall it is perhaps more similar to an air purifier and yes, it is a choice that we appreciated. Compared to other products in fact it does not look bad even if placed in the middle of a living roombecoming a piece of furniture rather than an annoying but necessary obstacle.
On the top we find all the keys we need, from the mode to the timer to the button to define the oscillation, while at the bottom there is the housing of the two filters for fine particles, to be positioned before starting to use it.
Finally, to accompany him we find a small and compact remote controlso you don’t have to get up to change its settings.
The field test
Once in operation, you will barely notice him.
Rowenta Eclipse QU5030 is ultra-quiet. Even at maximum speed it won’t bother you.
This allows you to use it anywhere and anytime. You can, for example, put it near the bed while you sleep, to freshen the air without disturbing your sleep, or keep it near a TV, without risking not to understand what is happening on the screen. Then nothing prevents you from placing it in the office, certain that even at the highest level it will not prevent you from conversing with colleagues or chatting on the phone.
It also does an excellent job of lowering the room temperature, with a range of about 8 meters and an oscillation that includes 3 angles: 30 °, 60 ° and 90 °. Then activating the Auto mode you will not have to do anything, he will take care of maintaining the set temperature, without requiring further interventions on your part.
The air purifier also convinces. According to Rowenta, it captures up to 99.95% of fine particles in the airwhich includes pet dander, hair, dust, pollen, allergens and other fine particles.
Of course all this is not tangible. But what you will notice is the clear change in air quality and its ability to absorb most of the odors. It does not mean that you will never have to ventilate the room but that the Rowenta Eclipse QU5030 will do most of the work.
Conclusions
Is it worth buying? The list price is € 424 but for some time now you can find it discounted at 299,99 €, even on Rowenta’s official website. At this price it undoubtedly is a great product, capable of combining two functions that can help you live your home or office better, without disturbing you thanks to a truly enviable silence. And then the air purifier is always an extra safety.
