Electronic Arts and Maxis have announced new content for The Sims 4, revealing Neighborhood Stories updates. The update unveils a number of gameplay improvements, which revolve around the goal of giving more life to nearby Sims, who live outside the household that is active in the game. The new Neighborhood Stories opens up to interesting and autonomous changes around the world, bringing to nearby Sims richer and fuller lives, capable of evolving over time. This is the list of new possibilities:
- Adopt young Sims into their family, from infant to toddler
- Getting pregnant with your partner and giving birth
- Adopt a dog or a cat
- Starting or quitting work; Older Sims can also choose to retire
- Entering and exiting lots
- Dying in various types of accidents, depending on a Sim’s age, traits, and career
The Sims 4 Updates
The other big addition in The Sims 4 is a new set of game controls, which empowers a player to choose which life changes their nearby Sims may or may not have. Neighborhood stories can be configured in the following ways:
- Independent Configurations: Players can choose to enable or disable all kinds of life changes and even disable all Neighborhood Stories in specific families.
- Default: Neighborhood Stories can be enabled for Other Families and disabled for My Families.
- Specific Configurations for Each Family: Each family can have its own configuration, allowing Simmers to customize the life changes that make sense for that family’s storyline.
- Global Enable or Disable Settings: Neighborhood Stories can also be completely disabled in Game Options.
To keep track of all changes, players can check any recent Neighborhood Stories interaction through any inbox. Finally, the Sim can visit nearby Sims to see their life changes in action. For more information on The Sims 4, we refer you to the official site.
