The mid-range has long been the most populated. And, of course, there is a reason. Indeed, more than one. The first is the price. The top of the range are tempting to many but few are willing to spend over € 1,000 for a smartphone. The second reason is linked to the current market offer: devices around € 300-400 have become more performing and more complete, designed to offer users everything they need.
Vivo Y76 5G belongs precisely to this category.
The Chinese terminal comes on the market with a large 6.58 ″ display, a processor that is always up to the task and support for 5G. Will they be enough to stand out from the competition? We talk about it in this review.
The review of Vivo Y76 5G
The most attentive among you will be asking themselves a question: hadn’t we arrived at the Y72? Did I miss 3 smartphones?
Not exactly.
In Italy Vivo has been present for about a year but in China it is a real colossus. Indeed, to be precise it is the most popular brand in the Asian country, with a long history behind it. In fact, Vivo was born in 1995 and started producing mobile phones in 2003. Almost 20 years of experience that poured into a mammoth production, made up of many models and a lot of units.
However, not all smartphones produced by Vivo arrive in Italy. At the base there is a selection based on the tastes and needs of Italians. Hence the apparent numerical gap.
But, nomenclature aside, what is Vivo Y76 5G like?
Design e display
Vivo’s smartphone seems designed to suit everyone’s tastes and pockets. It does it with two colors – Cosmic Aurora e Midnight Space -, which have nothing really trivial, and with a thickness of only 7,79 mm. In your hands then you will have an elegant and subtle productcharacterized by a satin finish that gives this smartphone a truly premium look and feel.
The back cover also amazes us with an excellent oleophobic treatment and with a two-level camera module; in fact we have a first shiny “step” which bears the inscription High Definition Photography and a second “step” which instead houses the three objectives. Don’t worry, all this does not expose the camera to any scratches: in the box you will find a transparent cover that keeps Vivo Y76 5G perfectly safe.
The right profile houses the volume rocker and the power key, which it integrates a fingerprint reader that is as fast as it is comfortable; the lower edge is dedicated to the speaker, the USB-C connector for charging and the forgotten 3.5 mm jack while the upper one integrates the slot for two SIMs or for one SIM and microSD.
On the front it finds space the 6.58 inch IN-CELL LCD display with drop notch, a frequency of 60 Hz and a brightness of 460 nits. The screen loses a little in direct sunlight but overall it performs well, not to mention that you have the option to customize it by choosing one of the three modes available: Standard, Professional and Bright.
Vivo Y76 review: performance
To animate Vivo Y76 5G we find the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, flanked by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This triptych allows you to carry out all kinds of operations, from work to gaming, without experiencing slowdowns or having to deal with lack of space.
Connectivity is also excellent, with support for 5G which makes it already compatible with the networks of the future, as well as the battery which, with medium use, it takes you to the end of the day without too much difficulty. Once you run out of energy, however, you can count on ricarica rapida FlashCharge a 44W which allows you to go from 0 to 70% in about 30 minutes.
Finally, let’s not forget the software, the Funtouch 12, based on Android 12. In our view it is one of the best interfaces on the market: fast, colorful, minimally invasive and equipped with all the features you need.
Camera
Finally we come to the photographic sector, consisting of a 16 megapixel front camera and a rear module that houses a 50 megapixel main lens, the 2 megapixel macro sensor and the 2 megapixel one for depth.
I results are absolutely convincing. Occasionally the artificial intelligence comes in straight on the colors but overall we have shots sharp and characterized by a good level of detail. The macro, which manages to give high quality photos, and the Night mode, with excellent results reminiscent of those provided by the top of the Vivo range.
On the other hand, the videos made at night, at 1080p and 60 fps, are less convincing, while in conditions of good brightness you can bring home excellent videos without difficulty, also thanks to the excellent electronic stabilization.

The Vivo Y76 5G review: conclusions
Vivo Y76 5G is a complete mid-range: it is thin, characterized by an elegant design, capable of carrying out any activity and equipped with a good photographic compartment. Let’s not forget the 44W FlashCharge fast charging. Vivo Y76 5G is in fact the first smartphone of the Chinese company equipped with this technology to land in Italy. A good record but above all a novelty that makes life easier for anyone, allowing you to return to operation after a few minutes.
