YouTube Shorts: the test of advertisements is underway
YouTube launched Shorts in 2020 in an effort to compete with popular platforms like Instagram and TikTok. But he has never wanted to add advertisements to the new content format since, despite the platform accepting ads virtually everywhere. Apparently, though, YouTube is now testing the insertion of promotional announcements of all kinds, including those that invite users to install apps. “Although we are still at the beginning, we are encouraged by the feedback and initial results from advertisers,” said a spokesperson for Google.
Speaking of which, in the first quarter earnings report, the company reported growth in YouTube advertising revenue of 14%. A good result, but still below analysts’ expectations. The company said it has seen a decline in direct response ads, such as App install campaigns. At this point, it’s pretty easy to see why Google has chosen to add ads to even its shorter formats. YouTube Shorts videos have reached i 30 billion views per dayand this shows that they are a great format to invest in.
