Il xCloud streaming device from Microsoftin the pipeline for some time, is undergoing some changes, as reported by Windows Central: in a recent statement, in fact, Microsoft talked about the project and the mysterious code-named device “Keystone“. What is it about? Let’s find out the details together.
Microsoft Keystone: what is it all about?
Lately Microsoft spoke with Windows Central and stated:
Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming is unwavering. Our goal is to allow people to play the games they want, on the devices they want, wherever they want. As announced last year, we have been working on a game-streaming device, codenamed Keystonethat could be connected to any TV o monitor without the need for a console.
As part of any technical journey, we constantly evaluate our efforts, review results, and make sure we bring value to our customers. We therefore decided to abandon the current iteration of the Keystone device and to change it. We will capitalize on what we have learned and refocus our efforts on a new approach that will allow us to offer Xbox Cloud Gaming to more players around the world in the future.
It is not clear what these changes could beie Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But the promises for a Xbox streaming device dedicated there are many. Xbox Series X was more available than the PS5, it’s true; however is not yet the easiest console to find and it also costs Very.
Have one available streaming stick (presumably) cheaper it might therefore be the best way for you to experience the games that Microsoft delivers via the cloud.
We would like to remind you that Microsoft is not working to a streaming device only but also to aXbox application for televisions. In November 2020, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, told The Verge that “I think you will see it in the next 12 months”; although the company missed that deadline, VentureBeat reported on May 6 that an Xbox game streaming app for Samsung smart TVs “should debut within the next 12 months”. VentureBeat went on to say that the streaming device is also slated for the next 12 months.
At the moment we don’t know for sure when Microsoft will share more information about these projects with its users. There society however, he is planning a great showcase for June 12th; maybe it will reveal something? We just have to wait.
