Officially announced by Lucasfilm Games and Respawn, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be the new video game inspired by the Star Wars franchise. The release is set for 2023, and will take place on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. The protagonist of the game (and of the first trailer launched today) is the Jedi Cal Kestis, engaged in epic battles set five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order.
According to the official press release, the new chapter will feature a strong cinematic component, which will make the most of all the power of the new generation consoles. It is in fact the first chapter of the franchise to be designed specifically for the new-gen Sony and Microsoft.

The game, developed by the experienced Respawn team, will be directed by Stig Asmussen and will follow the journey of the Jedi Cal Kestis. Asussen himself stated, “Even before completing Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how to bring the adventure of Cal, BD and the crew into the sequel. For this new chapter we are working closely with Lucasfilm Games to leverage advanced technology and create more dynamic Jedi combat. We look forward to sharing more information about the game with the world over the course of the year. ”
As anticipated, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal will have to bear an important responsibility: to be one of the last remaining Jedi in the entire galaxy. Accompanying him in this new adventure will be his trusty companion BD-1.

The game, currently in development for Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC, will be released in 2023. We await an official date in the near future.
