On the occasion of the event Broadening the Innovation Landscape 2022held in Shenzhen as well as in digital version, Huawei announced a series of news and progress in the field of intellectual property and innovation highlighting the results obtained for i patents. The event was the stage for the biennial award ceremony Top Ten Inventions. During the event, various types of inventions were awarded that could give life to new series of products or even define new commercial standards for existing products.
Huawei leads the sector by number of patents filed
Huawei took stock of the company’s intellectual properties on the occasion of Broadening the Innovation Landscape 2022. At the end of 2021, in fact, the company held more than 110,000 active patents in over 45,000 categories.
It should also be noted that Huawei can boast the granting of a higher number of patents than any other Chinese company and has filed the largest number of patent applications with the European Patent Office. Huawei is also fifth in the number of new patents obtained in the US. For the fifth consecutive year, however, it ranks first worldwide in terms of patent applications filed with the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
Note that Huawei is partnering with patent licensing companies to offer one stop licensing for all popular standards. Among the ongoing assessments, for 5G patents, is the joint licensing program with subject matter experts.
