If some features are often reserved for the top of the range, it is now always easier to find a cheap phone but excellent in basic functionality. The new OnePlus Nord 2T 5G, of which we propose the review today, it goes further: it is in fact a model that is on average inexpensive, but complete, with few compromises and many strengths. Let’s see it together.
Our OnePlus Nord 2T 5G review
Let’s start with the specifications: this phone mounts, at the processor level, a MediaTek Dimensity 1300, the latest top of the range from MediaTek. Although in the world of processors for Android those of MediaTek are often seen as not on par with their Snapdragon counterparts, during the test we did not encounter any slowdowns or difficult situations. Indeed, also thanks to the extremely fast memory (LPDDR4X for RAM, UFS 3.1 for internal memory) and the screen with a refresh rate of 90Hzthe use experience is always a lot fluid e snappy.
Speaking of memory, the model we tested was mounted on board 8 GB of RAM e 128GB internal memory. A configuration with 12 and 256 GB respectively is also available, but we did not perceive a particular flaw in the “inferior” model tested.
The user experience
Despite its not very small size (159.1×73.2×8.2 mm) the weight of this device is very small (190g), ensuring excellent handling. The screen is large (6.43″) but elongated enough to be easily operated with one hand.
A cover is included in the box, but you may still want to use the phone without it. Despite the theoretical anti-fingerprint layer, the latter remain and are visible, even if relatively little thanks to the light color Jade Fog. Despite the glass finish, the device is anything but slippery, and indeed remains firmly in the hand.
The phone has two unlocking methods. The first is it face unlockwhich however is alone optical and, however fast, probably not very sure. Better the second, or the fingerprint sensor under the screenhowever fast and reliable.
Cameras in plain sight
One definitely eye-catching aspect of this phone is the cameras, in particular the posterior ones. The main one, a 50MPapparently it is huge. Il sensore SONY IMX766with optical stabilizationbut has pixel da 1.0 µm, smaller than those of many other top-of-the-range sensors. The size of the lens and the quality of the sensor, together with the software processing, guarantee however excellent photos in many conditions.
Next to the main sensor we find then two others, one wide angle and 8MP for panoramas, with electronic stabilization and a viewing angle of 120°and one from 2MP monochrome, suppose for the depth. On the front we find instead a sensor from 32MP con electronic stabilization which allows you to take great selfies.
Charging is everything
Power is definitely a strong point of this device. Not so much, however, from an autonomy point of view, where it is still very good. We have in fact a battery from 4500 mAhlarge but not huge, which ensures on 15massimo 20 hours of autonomy according to our tests. Good numbers, but not amazing either.
The part that really impressed us, like in other devices Oppo e OnePlusis fast charging. Using the charger included in the package, in fact, recharging is available SUPERVOOC and 80W, a power that is more reminiscent of a laptop than a phone. In 30-40 minutesalso depending on the use during recharging, 100% is easily reached.
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G review: our impressions
Considering the list price of 409€we are faced with a device truly complete, high quality. The trade-offs are few (for example, the processor, the absence of wireless charging, the lack of a certification against water and dust) e definitely acceptable for most users. To get better you must necessarily spend more, and it is not necessarily necessary for your needs.
