Oppo is at work on two folding smartphones which could be launched later this year. According to a report leaked on the Net, one of the two models could have a similar design to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. Furthermore, it appears that the phones will be powered by a respectively SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon and from a MediaTek Dimensity. But let’s try to understand something more.
Oppo: folding smartphones will be the future of the company
Citing Digital Chat Station, IThome reported that Oppo is working on a foldable phone – called Oppo Find N2 -, which could be the successor of Oppo Find N, and another clamshell smartphone with foldable display. Both are expected to have a combination of Snapdragon and SoC Dimensity, and could hit the market later this year. Among the other details leaked in the preview, then, there is also a display with one 120Hz refresh rate.
On the other hand, at the beginning of the year an informant had anticipated that Oppo was working on a folding smartphone similar to Oppo Find N and on a flip phone, being tested in the European and Eurasian regions. Apparently, in fact, the company’s goal is to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, which apparently will be launched on the market by the end of the year. Indeed, according to some rumors, the South Korean company is hypothesizing to expand its offer with a cheap smartphone. It seems clear, therefore, that Oppo has quite a few devices to compete with.
