Ubisoft has announced that it will close i server online from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhoodthe first game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to feature multiplayer, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September. Both Brotherhood and other Ubisoft titles they will have to say goodbye to their online servers. This means that players will not be able to play multiplayer components, will not be able to access online features, or even link Ubisoft accounts across games. Further details are provided below.
Ubisoft will shut down older title servers (including Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood)
The official Ubisoft page reads:
Closing online services for some older games allows us to focus our resources on offering great experiences for players playing newer or more popular titles.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, originally released in November 2010he almost had 12 years of online support. Despite that, it’s still sad to see a piece of the game’s history become inaccessibleespecially when you consider that the game’s multiplayer mode was absent in the remastered versions for PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
In addition to Brotherhood, the online services associated with Assassin’s Creed Revelations 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360 will be closed; the same goes for Assassin’s Creed 3 of 2012 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. Ubisoft has included in its list too Assassin’s Creed II for PS3 and PC.
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag from 2013, which also featured a multiplayer element, is currently not on the list. Among the other titles that will see the closure of their online servers we find Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sands, Rayman Legends e Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
