Let’s go back to talking about Project Galileo, the intriguing title developed by Jyamma Games. A Soulslike that takes us into a completely new world, fantasy as per tradition but deeply inspired by our country, Italy. On the occasion of the Italian Video Game Awards, organized by IIDEA, has in fact debuted a video that contains a lot of new information about the game. Let’s find out together!
Project Galileo is set in Enotria
To tell everything is Francesco Abbonizio, Creative Director of the game. In the video he tells how Project Galileo is conceived as a “Summer-Souls“, a title that combines the beauty of our summers with the darkness of Soulslike. And this world, made up of small kingdoms each with its own culture, in which players will move finally has a name: Enotria.
It is a reality alive and vibrant, full of merchants, travelers and fighters. But all of this comes to a standstill when a group of people seize great power and trap everyone in the force known as Tea towel. The world then enters a stagnation: while maintaining its beauty, Enotria becomes a empty shell.
The player will therefore have to clash with enemies but also ancient myths, reconstructing the extraordinary story step by step of the Land of Enotria.
Giacomo GrecoCEO and founder of Jyamma Games, commented on this new reveal:
“We said right away, the intent of the whole Jyamma Games team was to research, study and insert the vast Italian folklore into the video game made up of habits and customs, legends and folk tales, which vary from region to region but also from one area to another within the same regional borders and which, in our opinion, is under-represented. We discovered fascinating stories that seemed born specifically for Project Galileo “.
The aforementioned echoes him Francesco Abboniziocreative and artistic director of Jyamma Games:
“In Project Galileo you can breathe Italy, you see Italy in vibrant colors, in bright colors, in short, in a very bright color palette; hence the term Summer-souls created to combine the beauty of the Italian summer and the feeling that visiting our country leaves, to the grit, the darkness and the dangers of a game similar to a Souls-like “.
