Bryant Chappel of The Nerf Report seems to be the only one who noticed the change and quickly found that it is not limited to the Stadia cloud gaming service by Google. According to him it also works with Amazon Luna, Xbox Cloud Gaming e GeForce Now on NVIDIA.
There seem to be some problems with this feature, however. It is in fact necessary to have carried out theaccess to an associated account to these cloud gaming services, otherwise a sign-up page will open, and there may still be intermediate requests. Furthermore, it doesn’t seem to work with all games.
It is currently unclear what Google plans to do. They don’t know if and when it will fully introduce this feature. The Verge website has noticed that this phantom feature is suddenly disappeared from the search results, after being in plain sight for an entire afternoon. She later appeared again but only for the account Google Workspace of one of the editors of the site; an account that it is not associated with any cloud gaming service. Chappel and 9to5Google then confirmed to The Verge that the feature still exists.
The most plausible hypothesis, according to The Verge, is that Google is performing an A / B test with this function to see how the public reacts. We just have to wait for further information from the company.
