If you are reading a comment that annoys you on the TikTok App and you want to reveal your “disgust”, now you can finally do it. In the wake of a test conducted in Spring, in fact, the platform launched a button globally Dislike for comments. As happens on any other social network, now also TikTok offers the possibility to react to a comment with the thumb down icon. An option that can be very useful for users.
TikTok App: Now you can use the “Dislike” for comments
The ability to react with a “I don’t like” comments arrives on the TikTok App, almost as if it were another way to get feedback about “irrelevant or inappropriate” comments. Ideally, a comment with a large volume of “I don’t like” will alert the platform to a probable case of hate speech, spam o trolling, which might otherwise go unnoticed. This, in turn, could promote healthier comment sections, if we can call them that.

Clearly, the TikTok App is aware of the possibility of some users abusing the button, but has not yet clarified how it will behave to prevent this from happening. On the other hand, this isn’t the only moderation tool available to TikTok, and the combined resources could help the company manage the comment sections that are too often annoying and offensive. But this system will only solve a part of the problems of the social network, which recently has to do with many problems related to disinformation.
