Passionate young peoplethrough video games and virtual reality, to the themes of solidarity, health and well-being. AVIS is preparing to return to schools with the project “RISE” (Virtual reality, innovation, health and education). The project, funded by Ministry of Labor and Social Policiesis aimed at third grade students of 60 upper secondary schools in 11 Italian regions.
The AVIS project: RISE, restarting with virtual reality and the video game
The initiative sees the partnership between the national headquarters and the Regionals of Lombardy, Veneto and Calabria and the involvement of volunteers from Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria.
The project will be structured in two phases: in the first, which will be held by October to December 2022students will have the opportunity to experience aunconventional play-training activity with multiple civic and social implications. Through your smartphone and wearing some special viewers for virtual reality, they will become the protagonists of a engaging video game investigative theme.
At the same time, a group of young people will be engaged in the monitoring of the progress of individual activitiesproviding for the compilation of anonymous questionnaires for the evaluation of the entire project.
Bring the project to life
The conception and implementation saw the collaboration of various professionals of the training processes, doctors, teachers, coaches and the company AnotheRealityleader in the application and development of video games, immersive solutions and metaverse for companies.
Working closely with teenagers, they formulated proposals in line with their intereststheir communicative languages and characterized by the latest trends in interactive education. From reflection on altruism, gratuitousness, responsibility e uniqueness, young people will be able to explore various themes, including public health, active citizenship, healthy lifestyles and donation of blood and blood components.
The second phase, to be held from January to May 2023will allow the students to do direct spokespersons for the project’s messages. In fact, they will use the communication tools they prefer most: i social network.
He will then be asked to design “social challenge”. They are simple and fun challenges that will commonly be launched on the web and then go viral. In this way they will become symbolic actions sometimes to stimulate the reflections on issues of social relevance. One example is the famous “ice bucket challenge” launched to raise public awareness on SLA.
Finally, each school will choose the best proposal developed internally which, in turn, will participate in a national contest. The most original and innovative idea will then be launched on social networks.
