A post today on the official blog of Remedy Entertainment is making the happiness of those who have loved the Control video game. The company has in fact announced that it is currently working on the development of Control 2, the release of which will take place for PC and new gen consoles (therefore Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5).
It is not yet time to jump for joy though, because the software house has specified that the title is currently in the “conceptual phase”. Which means that the works have just started and that the release could be far away.
What we know about Control 2: the release will take place via 505 Games
In the blog in question, the company explained that the publication will take place via the publisher 505 Games, which will also collaborate in the development phase. “We have signed an agreement with 505 Games to co-develop and co-publish Control 2, the sequel to the beloved video game Control,” the post reads.
More information on the project is provided to us by the Remedy investor website. The page shows that the initial budget for the development of Control 2 is 50 million euros.

Rami e Raffi Galante, co-CEO of 505 Games. “The game represents the largest investment in 505 Games history, so it has a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to the entire community of gamers who have made Control such a beloved game, and we are even more excited to release Control 2 ″.
According to data from 505 Games, Control has sold over 3 million copies since its release in 2019.
“With Control we took a leap into the unknown,” revealed the game director of the title Mikael Kasurinen. “We wanted to create something new. Something different and unexpected. A world like no other. Now with Control 2 we will take another leap into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey. It will take a while, but this is the most exciting project I have ever worked on. We are still at the beginning, but it will be worth the wait ”.
In May, Remedy Entertainment also promised to develop a Control spin-off. However, the announcement was no longer followed by any further details.
