It took just over three days to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet to break all records. The two games, released last November 18, have registered more than 10 million copies sold worldwide. It’s the biggest launch ever for a console-exclusive video game. The titles are in fact available only for Nintendo Switch.
The numbers were announced by Nintendo through an official press release in Japanese. The 10 million include both physical and digital sales and relate to the first three days of its release, therefore from November 18 to 21. More than 4 million of these sales came from Japan alone.

The two new games are set in the unprecedented world of Paldea, a land that branches out between maritime landscapes, snowy hills and urban contexts. A territory obviously populated by Pokémon that players will have to capture armed with Pokédex.
The open world aspect revolutionizes the whole approach to the game, expanding the freedom and the range of possibilities for the players. These will be able to join up to a maximum of three friends to explore Paldea, also riding the legendary Pokémon Koraidon (in Pokémon Scarlet) and Miraidon (in Pokémon Violetto). Among the news announced also the new Raid Teracristal with black crystals, which will give players the opportunity to capture exclusive Pokémon.
