The Star Wars franchise was born way back in 1977, with the first “Star Wars”, so called in the Italian adaptation, which is none other than Episode IV – A New Hope. From there, a riot of trilogies of various kinds, of which the last only recently announced, spin-off, TV series (The Mandalorian Season 3 is currently airing on Disney Plus!) and dozens of heterogeneous video games and generally accepted favorably by both the public and critics. In this special dedicated to the franchise, we want to go over with you what are, in our opinion, the five video games (or rather the five series, you’ll understand by continuing with the article) dedicated to Star Wars. In first position, of course, a great classic.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is a role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts in 2003. The story takes place approximately 4,000 years before the events of the Star Wars film trilogy and follows the story of a character created by the player, who is caught up in a war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith. One of the main features of KOTOR is the huge range of choices that the player can make, which can affect not only his character, but also the entire storyline of the game. These decisions can have short-term and long-term effects on the game’s story, characters, and world. The game has received numerous awards, including the “Best RPG” of the year award in 2003. A remake for PC and PS5 was announced in 2021, but little else is known.
2) Star Wars The Force Unleashed (2008) and Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 (2010) | Top 5 Best Star Wars Video Games: Let’s Find Out!
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an action video game released in 2008, developed and published by LucasArts. The game is set between Episodes III and IV of the film series and follows the story of Starkiller, a secret apprentice of Darth Vader, who has to carry out different secret missions across the galaxy. The game was praised for its engaging storyline and innovative battle system, but criticized for some technical issues and lack of a multiplayer mode. The game was very successful and spawned a sequel titled Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II which was released in 2010.
The plot of the sequel, also developed and published by LucasArts, once again follows the story of Starkiller, who must discover his true identity and his role in the struggle between the Empire and the Rebellion, about six months after the events of the first episode. The game kept the innovative combat system of the first episode and added new Force powers the much requested online multiplayer mode.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts released in 2019, which follows the story of Cal Kestis, a young Jedi on the run from the Empire’s bounty hunters and looking for a way to rebuild the Jedi Order, five years after the events of Episode III. The game offers a massive range of gameplay experiences including lightsaber and Force combat, exploration, puzzle solving, and fighting against enemies. The game’s storyline was particularly praised for its depth and attention to detail, mirroring the Star Wars universe. Here our review!

Also developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, Jedi: Survivor is set five years after the events of Fallen Order and returns to focus on the Jedi Knight Cal Kestis and his eternal struggle to always stay one step ahead of the Galactic Empire, still bent on exterminating the last remaining survivors of Order 66.

Star Wars: Squadrons is a space combat simulation game developed by Motive Studios and published by Electronic Arts that allows players to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe and experience being a space fighter pilot. The game features multiple game modes including Single-player Campaign and various online multiplayer modes, such as Dogfight and Fleet Battles. The gameplay is challenging and realistic, with players having to manage their space fighter’s energy, weapons, and location to succeed in battle.
