Dyson today communicated a strong expansion of its cInternationally advanced production capacity in the field of new generation batteries. In fact, it will open three new locations for this area. A factory dedicated to new generation batteries a Singapore and new R&D campuses in Philippines It is in the United Kingdom.
Dyson doubles production of next-generation batteries
Sir James Dyson, the founder, commented on the new investment: “New technology software, connectivity, artificial intelligence and proprietary batteries will power the next generation Dyson. Just like our long-term investments in pioneering digital electric motor technology, Dyson’s next-generation battery technology will drive a major revolution in the performance and sustainability of Dyson machines.”
In Singapore, Dyson’s global headquarters, will become the first new technology proprietary battery plant. The construction will be completed this year and will become fully operational by 2025. This is the largest investment in Dyson’s history in advanced manufacturing. And it will be as big as 53 basketball courts. Dyson’s new state-of-the-art factory is located at Yourin western Singapore.
Dyson has also announced a large investment to create a Technology Center of the Philippines which will house its research, development and production of advanced engines. The campus of Sto. Tomas, Batangaswill be one of the most advanced technological production centers in the country e it will create hundreds of jobs for engineers and college graduates. It should be operational in the first half of 2024 .
Dyson will also invest £100m technology center in Bristol, UK where hundreds of experts of software and artificial intelligence will develop innovative products for the next 10 years. The center will also house the company’s sales and e-commerce teams for the UK and Irish markets. The center will be located near Castle Park in the city centre.
In the UK there are also the main campus of Malmesbury and the robotics center at Hullavington Airfield In the Wiltshire. Dyson employs more than 3,500 researchers and developers in the UK and has invested £1.4 billion in research and development over the past decade.
