Apple is filled with colors with the Watch Pride Edition
Through these initiatives, Apple wants to support and give visibility to associations that promote the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and fight for positive change in society, such as Equality Federation Institutean accelerator building a network of LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations across the United States, e GLASS, an organization working in schools to end discrimination, harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. Fellowships also include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, Gender Spectrum, Human Rights Campaign, ILGA World, The National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL and The Trevor Project.
Inspired by the energy and beauty of the LGBTQ+ community, the new Sport band unites the rainbow flag and five colors: black and brown to remember people from communities of color and those living with HIV/AIDS or who have died from these diseases; blue, pink and white to pay homage to transgender and non-binary people.
The design
Il design this year features a vibrant rainbow of geometric shapes on a white base, compression molded to create the band. During compression, the base material flows around the individual shapes creating small variations in their layout: each strap is therefore unique, reflecting the individuality of each person in the LGBTQ+ community.
Il new Pride Celebration watch face and iOS wallpaper pay homage to the strength and unity of the LGBTQ+ community. The colored shapes appear to enter the screen from the band and react when the user lifts and moves their wrist or touches the display. Colorful and bright, the matching wallpaper takes up this year’s Pride design and comes alive when the user unlocks their iPhone.
